• ‘Revive and Thrive’ Conference on town centres.

• Tech firms’ £1.25 million competition to help fix Durham potholes through a mobile phone app.

• DCC has signed the ‘Loan Sharks Charter’ as part of a campaign to crack down on loan sharks.

• Healthwatch October newsletter – including: the new care home website; improving cancer screening; Stoptober; plus surveys on dementia services, transitioning into adult services, GP appointment systems and mental health services.

• Well done Pamela Petty – named ‘Mentor of the Year’ at this year’s North East Entrepreneurial Awards.

• Hitachi Internal Communications team won Best News Magazine (print) at the Institute of Internal Communication awards last week!
