We kept our promise and hand delivered the Aycliffe Radio shirt we promised Tyler, for his trip to Malaysia on the 11th April.
Tyler attends Woodham Academy, but this school trip is much more than a holiday. During his stay in Malaysia he will be assisting with marine conservation and learning how to be more sustainable, while carrying out reef surveys and monitoring the environment to learn about the impact on the coral, the local wildlife and the ecosystem.
Not content to take a back seat on the fundraising, Tyler played a very active part in raising the £4000 necessary for this once in a lifetime experience, but, both Tyler and Steph, were quick to thank and acknowledge the support from businesses in the community such as Tesco, Asda, Thames Fruit & Veg, Durham Climbing Centre, Roots, Pushing Ink Tattoo Studio, Thames Diner, Foxglove Heating and Kim’s Kitchen, and they can’t thank the local community enough for their donations and everyone who took part for their kind support in making Tyler’s dream a reality.
