The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is calling all children to end the school summer holidays with a bang, thanks to its upcoming Wizard Weekend!

Taking place from Saturday 25th – Sunday 27th August, the world’s most popular heritage railway will be transformed in to a hub of magic as it welcomes families for a weekend to remember.

Visitors should be sure to stop at Goathland Station, Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film, where the North Yorkshire Moors Birds of Prey team will be in attendance and where they can learn more about their favourite character’s feathered friends. Not only that, children will also have the opportunity to look the part and dress up in a themed wig and cloak for a photo with the fascinating animals.*

Of course, during a visit to NYMR the day doesn’t have to be in one place, with all return tickets operating on a ‘hop on, hop off’ basis so guests can experience all the stations along the line.

Chris Price, General Manager at NYMR, said: “We’re very much looking to our Wizard Weekend and we think it’s the perfect way to close out the summer holidays, and it also gives people a chance to dress up in one of the locations from the first Harry Potter film!”
