The last 2 years have seen big changes at The Work Place. It is now home to eight thriving businesses which make up quite a formidable list – Baltic Recruitment, BritGrocer, Durham SCITT, High Impact Development / The Emotional Intelligence Company, Patrick Lonergan Recruitment, Pioneering Care Partnership’s ROAD Team, The Progression Team (Durham County Council) and Warrens Group.

One of the latest businesses to move in is High Impact Development. For over two decades, they’ve supported CEOs, business owners, entrepreneurs and MDs to lead their people and businesses to higher performance and success. The Emotional Intelligence Company equips businesses with the skills and certifications to deliver emotional intelligence training and boasts a roster of regional, national and international clients, including Hitachi Rail Europe, AlixPartners and BAE Systems. Their latest success story is winning an international contract to deliver leadership coaching with 180 global leaders – the biggest contract in the business’s history – with confirmation this contract is being extended a further 12 months to 2020.

Angela Wilkinson, Business Manager of The Work Place said ‘We are delighted to welcome High Impact Development to The Work Place. Eight businesses have now made their home here. In the modern environment we offer, it’s great to see each business using their space to reflect their company culture and working practice. It also shows how flexible the building can be in creating different working areas that work best for individual businesses’.

High Impact Development joins other local businesses to move into TWP after another successful year in 2018 and demand for its services surging.

Gary Hosey, founder of the business explains why he chose The Work Place to be his work base. “The Work Place has been a brilliant move for us and the whole team have welcomed us and helped with pretty much every request we’ve needed. It was a strategic move for us to upgrade the office facilities for our team and The Work Place more than delivers on this aspect, with superfast broadband as standard and great offices too. We also need regular access to meeting and training rooms for some of our workshops, which include our EQi Certifications for emotional Intelligence. The last one we had people from all over the UK and 1 delegate from the Netherlands. We couldn’t be more delighted with having our HQ at The Work Place, if you’re considering taking an office on Aycliffe Business Park, Angela and her team provide a world class service, come see for yourself!

The Work Place, a not for profit organisation, also has other plans in mind for the business. Angela commented ‘We have a lot of great ideas for The Work Place including a business lounge which we hope to open in the Summer, offering shared office working space and we have also just introduced a virtual office service. We are proud of the building and want to offer our facilities to as many businesses as possible to use’.

She added: ‘Our office space shows how flexible the commercial offering at The Work Place can be, to meet a range of needs and we look forward to helping other businesses plan how they will use the space. We continue to have active discussions with potential tenants and we’re confident that The Work Place is one of the best business park locations available’.
