Hello everyone, the various teams working out of Newton Aycliffe have been busy this last week responding to a variety of incidents, ranging from Harassments, Missing Persons & Domestic Incidents. Below is a small overview of what has been happening;
On Monday afternoon we received a report of an attempted robbery in Newton Aycliffe. After some great work from a variety of departments, including NPAS (National Police Air Service), two male youths were swiftly tracked down, arrested and charged with a string of offences. One 16-year-old was bailed with an intense supervision order, and a 17-year-old male was remanded into custody. Both youths will be attending Court this coming week.
On Tuesday, PCSO’s Middleton & Todd assisted colleagues at Spennymoor with House-to-House enquiries following a serious assault.
Also on Tuesday PCSO Kipling attended the Options Group at the PCP with Police Dog Ben, to talk to the group about Police Dogs and the role they do on a day-to-day basis in the Police.
PCSO Middleton & PC Singh attended St Clare’s Welcome Café, speaking and listening to residents about any concerns/issues they were having in the area, and took a small number of light timers and personal alarms for any residents that wanted one.
On Wednesday, PCSO’s Nichols & Kipling assisted the Great Aycliffe Tidy Team in the Byerley Park area. The group meets every Wednesday morning at a different location to help keep our town litter free.
Also on Wednesday, officers from the Neighbourhood Team assisted colleagues in Shildon with House-to-House enquiries, following a robbery in the Co-Op on Dale Road.
On Thursday, a male was arrested for possession of a bladed article following a report of a group of males arguing on Pease Way. The male was subsequently taken to Darlington Custody and an investigation is ongoing.
On Friday night we received a report of a missing elderly male. Within 15 minutes, response officers located the male and returned him safely to his home address.
Preparations are well under way for our Christmas event at the beginning of December. We will be advertising this event more over the next week or so, as well as details for our raffle which is being done in partnership with Community Spirit, and we will have a fantastic selection of prizes.
Thanks everyone, have a fantastic week.
PCSO Steven Kipling.
