Debate society members, from year 11 at Woodham Academy, competed in the first round of the ESU English Speaking Union debate competition, after school, on Monday 14th November.
They were given the position of proposing the motion that ‘This house would ban the use of digital manipulation in advertising, including social media ad content’.
Aaron Beswick, Mollie Marsh and George Bowman performed brilliantly in a competitive round that consisted of teams from Hermitage Academy, Ripon Grammar School, Queen Mary’s School, Outwood Academy and Huntington School and have progressed through to the next round, which will take place in January, next year. Well done to everyone involved.
