On Saturday 7th May, five members of CrossFit All Out’s Academy group took to the competition floor at The Castle Games after qualifying for the event earlier in the year. The competition was held at Middlesbrough Sports Village. Competing in the mixed teens category (ages 12-14) was Ashton Anderson (aged 13), Finnley Mcalpine (aged 14), and Lachlann Plews (aged 14). Competing in the mixed kids category (ages 9-11) was Aiden Anderson (aged 11) and Alfie Ellis (aged 9).
All of the teens and kids tackled three tough workouts, under the support of Coaches Terry Anderson and Courtnie Mills, and parents/members of CrossFit All Out. These three workouts included a variety of movements including box jumps, burpees to plate, overhead plate walking lunges, leg raises, thrusters, and a 1KM run for the final event.
Kids Placing:
Aiden: 1st Place (best place finish of 1st in events 1 and 3)
Alfie: 7th Place (best place finish of 6th in event 3 – 1KM run)
Teens Placing:
Ashton: 9th Place (best place finish of 6th in event 2)
Finnley: 21st Place (best place finish of 14th in event 2)
Lachlann: 5th Place (best place finish of 2nd in event 1)
All kids and teens performed to the highest standard, taking each event in their stride and embracing every second of the day. Their determination shone through and all of the hard work they have been putting in during training was paid off massively. A huge congratulations to Aiden Anderson who previously finished 2nd back in November at the last Castle Games competition; this year he was able to take the top spot on the podium! A fantastic achievement and one we are all very proud of at CrossFit All Out.
Head Coach, Terry Anderson, said, “it was great to see all the kids support each other, enjoying it and seeing their hard work paying off. To see them challenging themselves, both mentally and physically, as young people is admirable. We are a very proud team of coaches and parents.”
