Greenfield Arts and Middridge Parish Council are delighted to invite you to the unveiling of artwork at Middridge Village Green that encourages motorists to calm their speed.
Artist Suzie Devey has been working alongside the local community and students from Greenfield Community College to bring about an innovative and creative installation that supports safety in the village.
Middridge Parish Council has been working for a long time to try and persuade drivers to obey the speed limit through the village, an example of which was the ‘speed puppets’ which stood on the village green until recently. Now the latest example of the use of art to try and increase driver awareness is to be unveiled on the village green on Wednesday 26 October 2022 at 15:00 and members of the public are invited to attend.
“Middridge Parish Council gratefully thank Greenfield Arts College for their leadership in this project, and GAMP and our Aycliffe North & Middridge County Councillors for their support in providing the necessary funding.”
Greenfield Arts would like to thank artist Suzie Devey, Middridge Parish Council and the above organisations for their positive support and patience throughout the project. “We are looking forward to the unveiling and the ongoing response from the community” said Laura Towns, Arts and Communication Co-ordinator.
