On Friday 3rd July, Woodham Academy held its annual Sports Day, providing the opportunity for around 600 students to participate in a fantastic day of athletics, teamwork and friendly competition.
Students proudly represented one of four teams: Bolt, Ennis, Farah and Hoy – competing in a range of track and field events throughout the day. Every participant demonstrated determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship, making the event a great success.
The high level of competition reflected Woodham’s recent success in the South West Durham District Athletics competitions, where teams achieved multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes across the eight team events for Years 7 to 10.
After a series of outstanding performances, Team Ennis retained the Sports Day trophy.
Congratulations to everyone who competed and contributed to such a memorable day.
The celebrations concluded with Team Ennis captains, Payton and Jaiden, proudly lifting the Sports Day trophy to round off a brilliant day for the whole school.
Well done to all of the students and staff for making this year’s Sports Day such an enjoyable and successful event.
