A Newton Aycliffe spray tan business is celebrating another achievement after being awarded Highly Commended – Spray Tan Expert of the Year 2026 at the North East Hair & Beauty Awards.
Katie Greenwood, owner of Tan On Demand, attended the awards at Rainton Arena on Saturday 19th September, where she was recognised alongside beauty professionals from across the North East.
Tan On Demand began more than eight years ago as a small side hustle alongside Katie’s full time career. Starting with mobile appointments, the business has since grown into a dedicated spray tanning studio from Katie’s home in Newton Aycliffe.
Katie said: “It means so much to have the business recognised again. When I started Tan On Demand, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today.
“I’m incredibly proud to be a small independent business based in Newton Aycliffe, and so grateful to every client who has supported me along the way.”
The business has previously received regional and national recognition, including Best Salon for Tanning at the Salon Awards 2022 and second place nationally for Spray Tan Artist of the Year in 2025.
Katie plans to continue growing Tan On Demand within Newton Aycliffe, with the latest award marking another milestone in the business’s journey.
