A board bringing investment and regeneration to a County Durham town has established a new working group.
The All Together for Spennymoor Board, administered by Durham County Council, has created a new Business Working Group, bringing together local companies, stakeholders and partners.
Helping to shape the future economic growth and development of Spennymoor, the new group has been created to provide a dedicated forum for businesses to share ideas, identify opportunities and collaborate on initiatives that support a thriving and resilient local economy.
The group will work closely with the board to ensure the voices of local businesses are reflected in plans and projects across the town.
The inaugural meeting of the working group has taken place, with businesses across the town and surrounding area encouraged to participate. The meeting produced positive, constructive discussion.
Considering a range of priorities, including town centre vitality, business support, skills and workforce development and inward investment opportunities, the group hopes to encourage increased footfall and spending within Spennymoor.
It will also help identify opportunities to maximise the benefits of ongoing regeneration activity and future investment projects, making sure that local businesses are well placed to benefit from the town’s continued development.
