Many thanks once again to our lovely donation points and their customers. The above supplies were collected this week from McColls store at Neville Parade and DebnHair Beauty Salon at Simpasturegate.

We also have donation points in the PCP at Cobblers Hall, The Thames Diner, Stephenson Way Children’s Centre, Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre, and the library.

Every one of our local schools that wanted a Red Box has been given one and we are looking to extend our reach to town organisations and clubs who feel they have a need for one. Please contact us for further information

With the long summer break due in a few weeks we are setting up collection points so that our girls and young women will still be able to access supplies when schools and colleges are closed. All schools are reminded that their students can take as much as they need from the Red Box before term ends so that they are covered for the holidays. Happily we have ample stock in reserve to top up all boxes either at the end of this term or the beginning of next. Newtonians have been very generous (as always) and we are very grateful to everyone who has donated.

Right now we need pants and tights in various sizes from age 10 up to women’s size 16. We have a huge supply of maxi size pads, so no more of those please, but there’s always a need for teen and ultra size products in normal, night and super sizes.

The Red Box Project is doing well in the rest of our county and is always looking for more volunteers to start up a branch in other communities. Funding was given and donation points set up in Shildon and Coundon and we are in the process of handing out boxes to their schools.

If you feel you can help in other communities please contact us. We are always looking for volunteers in Great Aycliffe, especially drivers. Call on 07731 549196 or email at redboxprojectdurham@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone who has helped. We couldn’t do it without you. Community kindness matters!
