Most hedgehogs will hopefully be hibernating now, the rescue hogs however will stay awake because they have health issues or they are too small. They will be kept indoors and they will be kept safe and well. We have Margaret’s little hog, Ian, June’s Angel, Josephine, who found a baby hog called Mitzi, Charley, from the allotment, little Cherub, Holly, Sem, Belle, Grace and Hermione and Ian’s Hallie. All of these little hedgehogs came in with bad tummies due to parasite burden but have responded to treatment and are all gaining weight. Except Mitzi and Charley who have been suffering from mange and ringworm, poor Mitzi has lost most of her spines but responding to treatment. She is being kept warm and comfortable, the spines will return but it’s a very slow process.
We still have some raffle tickets for sale, there are some lovely prizes that will be awarded to the winners before Christmas. Thanks given to everyone who has supported this rescue. It has enabled me to make sure that all the necessary medical supplies are here for them. Should you like to purchase any tickets you can email me pricklyhaven@yahoo.com.
Photo: Ian, isn’t he lovely!
