All Disabilities Matter Charity has once again created an immersive Winter Wonderland & Santa’s Grotto this year, located in Newton Aycliffe Town Centre (Unit 35). This has been made possible with the kind support of our amazing volunteers, the fantastic fabrication work completed by Kingfisher (Carlos and Andy) and the continued support of the Town Centre Management.
The Grotto has been designed for everyone to enjoy, with a particular focus on inclusion and accessibility. Our aim was to consider and accommodate as many different types of disabilities as possible, supported by our dedicated team of volunteers.
In collaboration with, and with the agreement of, Great Aycliffe Town Council and its Councillors, we have also extended access to the Grotto and Winter Wonderland on Christmas Eve from 11am to 3pm. This extension is intended to provide additional support following the required changes to this year’s Santa Tours, due to updated Elf and Safety requirements.
With the unanimous support of all local parish councillors, those few families who may be affected by the changes to the Council-run Santa Tours will instead be able to access the Town Centre Grotto, meet Santa and enjoy the festive experience.
At 3pm, Santa will leave the Winter Wonderland Grotto and begin the Santa Tours around the town.
Donation buckets will be available, but contributions are entirely optional.
