Scarlet Whitaker Dunn, the Newton Aycliffe based Junior Pro-kart racer, competed in round 3 of the Teesside Sprint Series held at Teesside Autodrome on Sunday 17th May.
Scarlet was competing in the ultra competitive Junior Pro-kart class, which saw an impressive grid of 24 entrants.
The racing was incredibly close as usual, but poor fortune in the heat races resulted in both disappointment for Scarlet and damage to her kart for the team to repair. This meant that she would start the meeting final in a sub-optimal 18th place.
Scarlet was making a good recovery drive in the meeting final and managed to get herself up to 12th place, only to be punted off the circuit by a fellow competitor who made a clumsy attempt to overtake her.
She rejoined the race, but insufficient laps remaining prevented her from regaining what she had lost.
All of Scarlet’s races (Junior Pro-Kart no7) at Teesside this season will be live streamed on the circuits YouTube channel, which can be found by searching tsk-media on YouTube.
