Thursday the 14th of March was a very special night for Great Aycliffe parish. The Revd. Jeff Anderson was licensed by The Lord Bishop of Durham, The Very Revd. Paul Butler. Jeff came to this parish just over a year ago when his wife Revd. Ann Anderson was licensed as our Rector. He now joins her as our Team Vicar in The Great Aycliffe Parish.

It was a lovely night in a very packed church to welcome Jeff into this very special role. Member’s of the diocession clergy took part in the service also, and Jeff was warmly welcomed by our Town Mayor, and the minister’s of St. Mary’s Father Tony Cornforth, and Neville Parade Methodist church Rev. Andy Bryer, as well as Gwen Morrison from Churches Together.

Shine Church and Community Choir did a splendid effort in welcoming Revd. Jeff themselves, by singing their hearts out with two splendid songs. Bishop Paul thanked them warmly. The evening closed with a faith lunch much enjoyed by all.

Revd. Jeff is getting to know as many people as possible throughout the town, so if you see him out and about, please do not hesitate to stop him for a chat.
