The spring programme at Greenfield Arts is full of new possibilities with opportunities to develop curiosity, take part in high quality arts activities and support positive projects that encourage us to explore the world around us and wonder what else might be possible.

We are looking forward to celebrating community spirit in the Shout ‘bout Shildon project. This project, supported by Shildon Town Council and the Heritage Lottery fund, involves Artist Paul Theo Murray and Greenfield Arts working alongside community groups across Shildon to notice the positive community spirit in the area and celebrate this through creativity.

The insights will be reflected in new artistic outcomes this spring that will be shared publicly across the town, celebrating the positive attributes of the community spirit even through times of adversity. The project examines moments of challenge and of opportunity that have presented themselves throughout time, and more recently, and ways in which individuals and communities have proactively responded.

The Greenfield Gallery is expected to host thought provoking and dynamic exhibitions that support artists and offer unique opportunities to access high quality art in our community.

We are delighted to begin the season with the Finders, Seekers exhibition commissioned by Greenfield Arts and created by artist Bethan Maddocks. It is a paper installation that has been created as a result of the many creative community conversations that have taken place across 2020.

Spring is a great time to develop or learn new skills and we are continuing to offer quality workshops to inspire learning and creativity. This season activities, in person and online, include wellbeing workshops, language refreshers, photography and sketching opportunities to name a few and free family focused activity too.

Greenfield Arts are committed to offering creative opportunities and also have bespoke studio spaces that have state-of-the art facilities, supporting artists, freelancers, creative practitioners and creative groups throughout the region. If you would like to know more about the facilities and opportunities that are available please visit www.greenfield-arts.co.uk for further details or speak to our friendly team.
