An upcoming free event is set to provide the perfect first step for those looking to start a career in the public sector.
Attendees will be able to meet teams from Durham County Council at the Public Sector Careers Fair 2025, who will be showcasing the wide range of roles on offer at the local authority.
Meanwhile, teams from County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, Durham Constabulary, and North East Ambulance Service will also be there.
Whether residents are just starting out, or looking for a new direction in life, the fair will offer visitors an opportunity to explore meaningful roles that can make a real difference in their communities.
Cllr Darren Grimes, Durham County Council’s deputy leader and Cabinet member for finance, said: “We are dedicated to making a difference in our communities through the vast array of services we deliver, and we are looking for people who share that vision. At this event you’ll meet the teams who do just that, and you might just find a role that lets you play your part too. Whether you’re starting out or ready for a change, this is a chance to put your skills to work for your own community, and to feel proud of it.”
The free careers fair is being held at Durham Cricket at Banks Homes Riverside in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday 12th November, between 2pm and 7pm.
Available timeslots for the event are:
• 2pm to 3.30pm
• 3.30pm to 5pm
