Dear Sir,
I was delighted to read the lovely poem that was published a few weeks ago about the Aycliffe Way, it is just a shame that some dog walkers are on a mission to make it a less than pleasant experience to walk along it, by allowing their dogs to foul on the pathway.
In the hot weather this week, I decided to get shade by walking through the woods and was so disappointed to see just how much dog muck I had to avoid.
I’m sure there’s numerous families using this walk during the holidays, something to do for free and be healthy, only to find the walkway spoilt by irresponsible dog owners who think it’s OK not to pick up as it’s a wood and not a street – too lazy to pick up or just don’t realise that their dog has done the deed because the dog is off the lead, or think because the path isn’t in plain sight they won’t be fined.
Come on dog owners, don’t let the Great Aycliffe Way be a toilet for dogs, there’s plenty of bins provided, so be responsible and use them.
