On Thursday 13th February, over 100 exhibitors will set up stall at the Dolphin Centre as part of Darlington Jobs Fair. People seeking employment, coming to the end of a qualification, considering a new job, or interested in exploring a new career, are encouraged to call into the event any time between 10am and 2pm.
Attracting both public sector organisations and private businesses, the jobs fair showcases a huge variety of roles, including paid apprenticeships, within industries including construction, engineering, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, professional services, retail, transport and uniformed public services. It offers visitors a fantastic opportunity to speak directly to recruiting employers about their organisations, upcoming vacancies, and their application and interview processes.
Local education and training providers will be at the event, helping attendees to identify appropriate learning opportunities which will support them to achieve their career ambitions. Learning & Skills Darlington will also be facilitating a ‘digital hub’ where attendees can explore the wide range of funded, distance learning courses available on their online learning platform.
Advice and guidance will also be available from a range of support organisations which can help people overcome barriers that are making it harder for them to gain suitable employment, for example, difficulties with childcare or transportation. Specific support will be available for veterans and there will be a translation hub to support people who do not speak English as a first language.
Please register your interest on Eventbrite by searching ‘Darlington jobs’. People registered to attend will be sent an event reminder nearer the time.
