As we head into the final weeks of the extended season, there is still plenty to play for, for many of our teams

Aycliffe U9 Wildcats Girls v Boldon Girls

A full turnout of 10 girls for the final game. The girls wanted to finish the season on a high, having only lost 2 games all season. Sofia played her best game since becoming our goalkeeper. Mia was solid as always, Skye also was solid in the tackle, stopping some good attacks, Imogen showed that she can be a box to box player, Anais showed how she is coming on with good movement.

Ava was as strong as always and scored some great goals. Phoebe’s pace was used to break away and score. Nyah working the line trying to get on the end of crosses and was unlucky not to score. Brooke getting involved more in the middle and winning a fair share of tackles. Lucy, when put in defence, had her best game for a little while. Great season girls and great result to finish. Onward to U10’s next season.

Shotton Colts Blues 1 – Aycliffe U12’s Eagles 6

The Eagles dominated the game from the initial whistle and although Shotton went ahead with a miskick that fell to their striker to finish 1-0, we were by far the better team. 3 goals before half time and a further 3 in the second half and the final score was 1-6. MOTM went to Harry today who had his best game for the team to date. An outstanding team performance and a well-deserved 3 points.

Bishop Girls 2 v Aycliffe U12 Wildcats Girls 4

A messy game to start, but Aycliffe grew into the game and were rewarded for their determination and resilience. Half time it was 2-2 but a great second half secured the 3pts.

We go into the final 2 games of the season needing 3 points to come away champions.

Goals from Demi x2, Emily and Safiye.

POTM was Lana this week, her effort is always incredible, nothing stood in her way and she gave everything for her team, a true captains performance.

Aycliffe U11 Angels Blue v Darlington Spraire Diamonds

The girls produced an excellent team performance against a tough Spraire team. They gave Spraire little opportunity to get a foothold in the game. All 11 players played with energy, skill and worked for their team. The Blues created lots of good chances and scored some quality goals to secure the win.

Friendly

Dormanstown Rovers FC v Aycliffe U10’s Eagles

The boys travelled to play a friendly in preparation for the move to 9 aside next season. The Rovers managed to go a goal ahead but this was soon cancelled out when Krystian was taken down in the box and stepped up to convert the penalty, HT 1-1. Second half and The Eagles dominated the play. Aiden picked up the ball and ran forward, using his speed to get infront of the defence and one on one with the keeper, finished with style. Another attack and Cole made a fantastic run and buried the ball into the back of the net. Then 2 goals from Brandon, who was now playing upfront. The final goal came from Evan, after a ball from Dan. All the boys contributed to the game and the defence were brilliant clearing any danger created by the opposition and Charlie made some good saves in goal.
