The squadron has had a very successful month of activities and is now seeing cadets getting away on camps across the region.
Cadets from 1407 (Newton Aycliffe) Squadron Air Training Corps enjoyed a great climbing session at ROF 59 Climbing Centre, building confidence, teamwork and resilience, while taking on new challenges.
Six of our cadets have finally completed their expedition aspect of their Bronze DofE – and are already on track to have their award done entirely!
This was a great weekend for them for team building, navigation and overall being in the outdoors; many of these cadets are looking forward to try and complete their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in the future.
1407 Squadron attended Durham & Northumberland Wing’s annual Wing Adventure Training Challenge and were proud to come away with the overall win.
Competing across walking, archery, mountain biking, first aid and orienteering, the team put in a fantastic performance throughout the weekend, achieving full marks in both walking and orienteering.
The challenge tested teamwork, leadership, resilience and problem solving, and every member of the team represented the squadron brilliantly from start to finish.
