Dear Sir,

Today I received a pamphlet from Michael Stead, a Liberal Democrat, someone I have never heard of, claiming that they are the main opposition to the Labour party.

Some of the points he states regarding the attitude of how Labour runs local and Durham Councils, such as not listening to the public and doing what suits them is correct. They say they are different and want to put the people first.

How can a political party such as the Lib Dems be believed when their policy on Brexit is no matter if the country decide to leave they will fight to stay, remember most people in the County Durham area voted to leave.

So how can we trust the Lib Dems when they don’t listen to the public? It is a case of out of the fire into the frying pan.

It would pay to vote Conservative or Independent, as yes we do need changes after the last ten years of the same hierarchy is not acceptable, especially when they are not voted for by the people.

Maybe we should be allowed every three years to vote for the council and local council leader before complacency sets in?
