Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) and Hiyed CIC have announced a new partnership that saw the Garden Kitchen at the Pioneering Care Centre reopen on Monday 3rd August.
The collaboration brings together two organisations committed to improving lives, promoting wellbeing and creating opportunities for local people. Alongside serving freshly prepared homemade food, quality coffee and affordable meals, the Garden Kitchen will provide supported employment, work experience and skills development opportunities for people with disabilities and health conditions.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Hiyed CIC to relaunch the Garden Kitchen. Together, we’ll create a welcoming community space while helping people build confidence, develop workplace skills and move towards sustainable employment.”
Hiyed CIC supports people facing barriers to employment, particularly those who are neurodivergent, have learning disabilities or other health conditions. Through the partnership, individuals will gain practical experience in catering, customer service and hospitality via supported internships, volunteering and work-based learning.
Tracy Fee, Director and Founder of Hiyed CIC, said: “By working together, we can provide real work experience and clear pathways into paid employment. Every purchase made at the Garden Kitchen helps create training and employment opportunities for local people.”
The partners also plan to expand their catering and hospitality services to support meetings, events and community functions, creating even more opportunities for learning and development.
The Garden Kitchen is open Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm, and Saturday, 9am-1.30pm, at the Pioneering Care Centre, Carer’s Way, Newton Aycliffe. For menus and more information, visit:
