Join all the festivities at the Aycliffe Town Centre Christmas Lights Switch On!
Aycliffe Town Centre on Beveridge Way has a full line-up of festive fun for all the family in the run-up to Christmas, starting with the Christmas Lights Switch On on Friday 28th November, 4pm-7.30pm.
Set against the backdrop of the popular street food market and festive bar, Santa Claus will arrive at his Grotto with some surprise friends at 5.00pm. Children accompanied by an adult can visit Santa in his Grotto FREE and receive a Christmas gift.
The fun continues with street entertainers, the Roaming Naughty Christmas Tree, and the Christmas Elf. You’ll also find a face painter, children’s photographer, and a special ‘selfie board’ for festive photos.
Enjoy music from the Aycliffe & Brancepeth Brass Band, carols and songs by Shine Choir, St Francis School Choir, and the McAdam School of Performing Arts, hosted by Aycliffe Radio.
Don’t miss this fun-filled evening, which culminates in the Christmas Lights Switch On at 6pm by the Great Aycliffe Mayor, Councillor Ken Robson.
Pop-Up Indoor Cinema
Festive entertainment continues in December with our indoor pop-up cinema showing children’s Christmas favourites.
Saturday 6th December:

11.30am – How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Saturday 20th December:
10.00am – Elf
12.00pm – Home Alone
2.00pm – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Seating is available and admission is FREE.
Ice Skating Rink
If you love skating – or want to give it a go – don’t miss the synthetic ice skating rink on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December, 10.00am – 4.00pm on Beveridge Way. Sessions are £3.00 for twenty minutes, and skates are provided for both children and adults.
