Newton Aycliffe based charity, Deaf Empowering Network (DEN), has been recognised with an award for its shining example of inclusion, empowerment, and community resilience.
The charity was nominated alongside Diversity Inside Us and Curious Arts for the Tees Valley Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Awards under the Community Organisation category.
The team was presented with the award by Cleveland’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Matt Storey. CEO, Craig Jones, was incredibly proud of the achievement, saying, “This award is a true reflection of the passion, dedication, and resilience of our team and the wider Deaf community we serve. It’s not just recognition of what we’ve achieved – it’s motivation to keep breaking barriers, building bridges, and creating a more inclusive future for everyone.”
