UTC South Durham is celebrating another year of academic success, with students excelling across A Level, T Level and BTEC qualifications. This year saw a 100% pass rate in our Engineering T Level, with 30% at Distinction, reinforcing our reputation for high-quality technical education and strong career pathways. An impressive 36% of all grades achieved were at A*, A, Distinction* or Distinction.
Just some of our success stories are:
Ethan Patterson – Achieved Distinction*, A*, A at A Level and will be joining Durham County Council on a Degree Level Apprenticeship in Civil Management.
Kay Hollick-Oldfield – Achieved Distinction, A, B, C and will be studying Mathematics at the University of York.
Jenson Burrows – Achieved Distinction in Engineering T Level and has secured a Degree Level Apprenticeship with Kromek, a cutting-edge technology company.
Principal, Tom Dower, said “I am delighted with our students’ successful results this year; a true reflection on their hard work and career-focus. While the results themselves are impressive, it is the balance of academic, technical and workplace experiences which ensures that students from the UTC are ready for their next steps in education or work.”
UTC South Durham prepares young people for the world of work equipping them with the technical skills, academic knowledge and professional behaviours needed to thrive. This year’s results once again demonstrate how the UTC model creates unique opportunities for young people in the region.
