The Green Arts Spring and Summer programme is underway with something for the whole community to take part in. We are thrilled to announce that we have been offered a further three year contract at the Eco Centre in Moore Lane and would like to thank Great Aycliffe Town Council for the support they have shown for our organisation, it means that we can expand our programme and increase our offer for the whole community! This season you can explore a vibrant range of creative activities, hosted at the welcoming Eco Centre. We are offering lots of inspiration, learning and a chance to connect with others who share a passion for the arts. The highlight for budding writers is our lovely writing workshop, designed to welcome all levels and provide a welcoming space as part of a ‘Happiness Hub’.
The sessions are led by published writer Fran Harvey and cater for all skill levels and beginners are welcome! Participants receive hands-on guidance, practical tips, and proven techniques to help unlock their creative potential. Everyone who takes part has the exciting opportunity to publish their work in a collaborative anthology, celebrating the diverse stories and talents within our community. For families, the programme offers a range of holiday activities tailored for young people. Our Free May half term session led by popular artist Dawn Belshaw is now available to book. This fun session blends art and recycling and allows young people to discover the world around them through guided creative activity. Just visit our website or Eventbrite to reserve your space. Green Arts continues its commitment to nurturing creativity by offering a space to our regular groups.
Creative Wellbeing meet each Thursday, led by Sheila and Sonia, the relaxed group create amazing work and enjoy the warmth of a social group. Creative Forum, led by artist Sharron Bates, is a lovely group, bringing together creatives on a Friday morning, who can catch up whilst enjoying creating their own chosen craft. The two groups generate lots of laughter and fabulous artwork and Green Arts are privileged to collaborate and be inspired by the members. Just contact us to find out more. Our Fabulous Cree group are continually busy creating planters for the community and our young Explorers are joining forces with the Men’s Cree to locate the wonderful fairy house the two groups have collaborated on. We are so proud of the two groups and, again, a big thank you to Richard Agar and Dawn Belshaw for supporting and guiding the amazing projects.
