Your local community radio station, Aycliffe Radio, is looking for enthusiastic volunteer presenters and DJs to join our vibrant on-air and behind-the-scenes team.
We’re especially keen to hear from people with a love of music from all decades and genres – from golden oldies, soul, jazz and classic rock to 80s, 90s and 00s favourites, as well as indie, dance, hip-hop, electronic, folk, world music, alternative and emerging new sounds. If you have a passion for uncovering hidden gems or championing under-represented styles, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re interested in music, local news, arts, sport or community stories, this is your opportunity to share your voice and make a real difference. No previous broadcasting experience is required – just enthusiasm, reliability and a desire to connect with your community.
Station Manager, Paul said: “Community radio is all about giving local people a voice. We are here to reflect the diversity and energy of Newton Aycliffe, and that includes the music we play. We welcome anyone who would like to get involved – from total beginners to seasoned music lovers with a passion for any era or genre.”
Volunteers will receive full training and ongoing support. Opportunities are available for live shows, pre-recorded programmes, specialist music shows, interviews, and a variety of production and technical roles behind the scenes.
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and professional environment, all new volunteers will be required to complete a simple vetting process.
