The new season started for most of our teams last weekend, with some exceptional results.
Wildcats Girls Development and Little Eagles Boys Development
After another three teams started their footballing journey, we now have spaces available for yr 1 boys and girls at our development academies. If you are interested and need more info, contact Berni 07939 045242
U7 Wildcats v Hartlepool Youth Divas
Second game for the girls, who found themselves trailing at half time, but they rallied in the 2nd half to finish the game level.
U7 Eagles v Darlington Young Bulls
First home game for our new boys team, produced a dazzling performance and a goals fest which was backed up with a clean sheet. The development game also produced a good win for the lads.
U9 Eagles v Dunston
The Eagles first league game of the season and a great win, especially as the team had two players only joining the team a few days before. Great performances all over the pitch, Oscar with a last minute penalty save, Luke with a mazy run and smart finish, Joel and Oscar strong in defence and Elijah making quality runs.
U10 Pumas v Hebburn
The new Pumas team continues to develop. They conceded early, but Eadie broke away at pace to set up Millie who finished really well to equalise. An excellent performance in goal from Lily and Layla showing lots of energy in midfield and passed forward really well. Alice was solid at the back. Ella scored the Puma’s second goal, but Hebburn ran out winners.
U10 Wildcats v Horden WC
The Wildcats started slowly and were behind at HT. The half time team talk quickly turned the performance on its head and the girls dominated the ball in the 2nd half. They got reward for some sustained pressure when Freya calmly slotted home a penalty, but were unable to close the gap.
U11 Eagles v Cockfield Jnrs
It was defeat for the boys, but a very close game remained competitive until the very end. The Eagles were arguably the better team and, most importantly, showed real improvement and progress from the first game of the season. Overall, the whole team should be pleased with their performance.
Prissick Rovers 2 v 1 U12 Falcons
Good 1st half battle with chances at both ends. HT 0-0. Second half continued end to end. Falcons scored first, after some great passing in the build up, but were unlucky not to score a second. Prissick didn’t give up and deserved the equaliser. A draw would have been a fair result, but Prissick nicked it right at the end with a long range lob. Goal Leo, assist Harry Latta. POM Harry Myers.
U14 Eagles 1 V 3 Eaglescliffe Elementis
A nervous start saw the game head into half time with the score 0-0, with few chances for each team, Eaglescliffe scoring straight after kick off and adding another soon afterwards. The Eagles rallied forcing a penalty to take it to 2-1, but finally conceding another.
U15 Girls 2 v 4 Whickham Fellside
Great start for the girls going 2-0 up with goals from Imogen and Peyton, but gave away a sloppy goal just before HT. Then the visitors scored from the ko and with no subs the girls tired conceding a further three goals. POTM Jasmine. Players player Imogen.
U16 Angels 10 v 0 Kader FC
Playing against new opposition, the players didn’t know what to expect, but after an even first five minutes the team took control with a fantastic display. Six different scorers (Emily 3, Erin 2, Evie 2, Eveie, Georgia, Hannah). Second clean sheet and some quality football. Star players Eveie & Georgia.
Ouston Jnrs 3 v 3 U17 Eagles
The lads weren’t on their best form, but they never gave up. The score was level at 80 mins and they worked hard looking for a winner, forcing the keeper to make some outstanding saves. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, leaving with a point. Two goals from Joel and one from Clayton. MOM Clayton.
