All Disabilities Matter are a 100% volunteer group charity and were delighted to see such a great attendance for the bespoke immersive grotto experience. This has taken literally hundreds of man hours of volunteer support to create and we hope all would agree, was a quality level indistinguishable from a professional production company.
From footsteps on the floor guiding you around and giving everyone the challenge of finding ten hidden, naughty elves in the grotto experience, it began with the initial Christmas village snow area, with so many lit miniatures, all moving and representing a Christmas, with backdrops for that truly immersive feel, to the draped ceiling with literally 12,000 LED lights twinkling behind the black drapes to represent the night sky before Christmas, walking and guided down the UV backlit snow scene trees and presents.
At the end of that initial walk, was the immersive digital projection screen, with Frozen, Moana, etc., videos where the children can see themselves ‘dance with the characters’. It was a great success and kept many happy whilst waiting for Santa.
As you near Santa’s Grotto there was the large scale video projection with music and many looping videos to keep all entertained and singing to the songs on the large screen.
Lastly, the big event, Santa’s Grotto – bespoke printed wood roll effect room, with trees, lights, train, fireplace and elves, with Santa waiting.
You then exit the room and have the nativity scene, backlit for the true meaning of Christmas, which is not to be forgotten. All of this, helped by volunteer parents of special needs from All Disabilities Matter, who obtained Charity status earlier this year.
We were delighted with the support of Trevor and Aycliffe Radio to allow us take part and be present at the Christmas Lights event.
