St Cuthbert’s Hospice Christmas Fair returns on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at New College Durham, DH1 5ES.
The event is a much-loved staple in the calendar for many in the run up to Christmas. This year will see the Hospice launch it’s fair in its biggest venue yet, after it’s recent success welcoming hundreds of supporters. Open from 11am – 4pm with over 40 stalls, the event is free to attend, with entry by donation raising money for the Hospice in Durham.
There will be a Santa’s Grotto, priced at £5 per child, as well as fundraising stalls including retail items from the Hospice’s nine charity shops, Christmas cards, Hospice 2025 Calendar, raffle, teddy tombola and bottle and chocolate tombola.
Alison Maynard, Deputy Principal at New College Durham, said:
“New College Durham is proud to be part of the St Cuthbert’s Christmas Fair, spreading joy throughout the community while raising essential funds for an incredible cause.”
There are also expected to be over forty stallholders, who are local businesses from around the region. Rock Choir North East will also be performing a medley of festive songs throughout the day.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice was founded by a group of Durham residents over thirty years ago. They came together for a common cause, to provide care and support for those coming to the end of their lives. Thanks to many years of fundraising and the dedication of its staff, the care delivered by the hospice has continued to grow and they now support people with advanced illness, people approaching the end of their lives and people who have been bereaved.
Erin Wright, Community Fundraiser at St Cuthbert’s Hospice, said: “We can’t wait for the fair and we’re delighted to be partnering with New College Durham to host it at the college. It’s going to be our biggest venue yet and we would love to welcome as many people along as possible to raise much needed funds for the hospice this festive season.”
As well as being on local bus routes, New College Durham has plentiful free parking for everyone attending.
