Acorn residents set off on Saturday 13th July to visit the Yorkshire seaside resort of Scarborough. After a really hot week in Newton Aycliffe we were looking forward to a cool sea breeze. However, upon arrival, our decent from an air conditioned coach was more reminiscent of departing through an airplane door into Tenerife airport.
Some of our more adventurous travellers took a trip on the pirate boat and were pleasantly surprised to be followed by a pod of Dolphins, others opted for an obligatory visit to the beach with the bucket and spade as well as being brave enough for a plodge in the sea!
Of course, you can’t go to the seaside without sampling fish and chips and the alluring smell of vinegar poured over steaming hot chips was a breath of fresh air to some.
Marvellous day out with some fantastic people, looking forward to our next adventure.
