Our August meeting was a lovely social get together including the opportunity to purchase some beautiful craft items from the W.I. Merchandise Team as well as enjoying several quizzes and a game of Bingo.
In September, we have trips booked, including the History Wardrobe, featuring the Fashion Revolution. There is an excursion to Saltburn on the train, where members can enjoy tasty fish & chips and a trip on the Tram, which is back in service, followed by a stroll around the gardens, shops and cafes. Our members are also able to access get-togethers organised by W.I. House including a three course Harvest Lunch and an Eco Products Workshop. There is a Crochet Group on the second Tuesday of each month and a friendly self-help group of Saturday Stitchers for knitters, machine stitchers and embroiderers.
In September, one of our members will be running the Great North Run, raising funds for Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group, our chosen charity for 2026.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm in the Methodist Church at Neville Parade. We have speakers on various topics, craft evenings, auctions and parties.
There is no need to be lonely as a W.I. member, come and join our friendly and hospitable Newton Aycliffe W.I. All women are welcome and you will have the opportunity to attend trips, learn new crafts and make new friends.
