Woodham Academy’s annual Christmas concert took place at the end of last half-term, and saw a huge level of talent take to the stage. The sold-out audience was entertained by an evening of performances from solo singers, bands and instrumental ensembles, and even a sneak preview of this year’s upcoming musical.
Almost 100 students, ranging from Years 7-11, were involved in total, taking on a variety of roles from on-stage performers, backstage crew or sound/lighting technicians. Year 7 participation in particular was the highest it has been, with many of the younger students fully embracing life at Woodham by attending one or more of the extra-curricular groups who performed, and several also applying to sing solos or duets. The standard of performance was incredibly high, and it was a fantastic night.
Students will now be looking forward to the next project, Frozen Jr, which is taking place in March and for which rehearsals are already well under way. Tickets for the show will be available nearer the time, but it is safe to say that audiences are in for a treat!
