On Tuesday the 3rd of June, the ‘Prison Me No Way’ team paid their annual visit to Woodham Academy. Year 9 students spent the day experiencing a variety of sessions, learning about the effects of knife crime, domestic abuse and trespassing on train lines.
Students met a former prisoner, who delivered a session about choices and consequences. Prison officers were on hand to discuss prison life, showing them the confined space of a mock up prison cell.
Over the course of the day, Woodham students gained some valuable knowledge and experience, hopefully helping to guide them along the right path. Upon leaving, the ‘Prison Me No Way’ team complimented the students on their engagement in the sessions and their behaviour throughout the day. They look forward to returning next year.
