June Punshon
June, aged 89 years, died 21st February, peacefully in hospital after a long illness. First to be married in Newton Aycliffe. Beloved Wife of the late Tommy and much loved Mam of Michael, Deborah, Sharon, June, Brenda, Nana and Great Nana. Friends please meet for June’s funeral service at the Hammers & Pincers on Wednesday 25th March at 12 noon, followed by burial at West Cemetery. Everyone welcome to return to the Hammers & Pincers after the interment.
Michael Graham
Aged 65 Formerly of Newton Aycliffe and known to many as ‘Flap’, passed away on 19th February 2026 in Stoke on Trent. He is survived by his Son Liam and his Sister Catherine. A lovely man who lost his way in life, Michael will be remembered with affection. It is hoped that he has now found the peace in rest that eluded him during his life time. A private cremation will take place in Stoke on Trent.
Catherine Flanagan
Of Newton Aycliffe, formerly Newcastle, passed away peacefully on 9th March, aged 94 years. Beloved Wife of the late Patrick; much loved Mum of Linda; a dearly loved Grandma of Emily, Christopher, Robert, Sam and Rosie; adored Great Grandma of Oliver, Kenzie, Persephone, Guinevere, Douglas, Grace, Eddie and Molly. Will family and friends please meet for a service at Wear Valley Crematorium on Tuesday 31st March at 2.30pm.
Joyce Stevens
Sadly, Joyce, formerly of Beechfield, Newton Aycliffe, passed away on 28th February, aged 90 years. Joyce, a devoted Wife of the late Tom and a much-loved Mam of the late Michael and Carol; a cherished Grandma and Great Grandma. Funeral to take place at Wear Valley Crematorium on Friday 27th March at 3.30pm. Please meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if so desired, to Alzheimer’s Research UK.
