Autumn has arrived, as the changing colours in the town park clearly show. For Newton Aycliffe WI, October was the time to celebrate our birthday.
This year our WI group celebrated its 26th birthday with a social evening including a delicious buffet, games of bingo and a quiz.
For our 10th November meeting we have arranged an interesting talk about woman on the railways during the 1st World War presented by Alison Grange. Our December meeting will be our Christmas Party.
There are also plenty of events available for WI members to enjoy at WI House in November, including a countdown to Christmas with a light lunch provided and activities. On 1st December, there will be a Christmas Social. Monthly meet ups for WI members at WI House are Crochet Group on the second Tuesday of the month and Saturday Stitchers on the second Saturday of the month.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm at *St. Clare’s Church in the Town Centre. Our meetings include guest speakers on a variety of topics, craft evenings, auctions and parties.
There is no need to be lonely – we would love you to come along and join our friendly and welcoming Newton Aycliffe WI. All women are welcome and you will have the opportunity to enjoy trips, learn new crafts if you wish, and make new friends.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact our President, Christine Robinson on 07981 992686.
* Please note the change of venue from this month to St. Clare’s Church.
