Our July meeting including a fascinating presentation by Jane and Rebecca of Cutting it Fine, who presented their hand made versions of costumes worn by ladies of the 13th Century. They explained how researching the costumes for accuracy was quite a time consuming challenge to get the historical accuracy they need for costume reproduction.
Our August meeting will be a lovely social evening and, just as a reminder, we will be providing a bake and sandwich table at Shildon Fair on 1st August and the ever popular Sweet Delights evening, which will be held at Neville Parade Community Centre, is on 21st August.
In September, one of our members will be running the Great North Run, raising funds for Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group, our charity of 2026.
As a WI member, you can have access to the events catalogue from WI House, including early evening walks, coffee mornings, cookery demonstrations, lunches, ladies days and coach trips, all at reasonable prices to suit your budgets.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the Methodist Church at Neville’s Parade. We have speakers on varied topics, craft evenings, auctions and parties.
