This is going to be an amazing family day for the whole community.
On Sunday 16th August 2026, we’re inviting families, friends, schools, community groups, superheroes and supporters of all ages to take part in a sponsored superhero MOVE from Newton Aycliffe to Shildon.
Not only will you enjoy a fantastic day out, you’ll also be helping to raise vital funds for two local charities, Little SENDsations and Lifeline Community Action, supporting local families and creating more inclusive opportunities across our communities.
Whether you walk, wheel, push, stroll or roll, this event is all about moving your way.
What can you expect?
• A fully inclusive sponsored superhero walk
• A special Move Your Way 2026 medal and goody bag for everyone who fundraises
• A small selection of superhero outfits available, for anyone who needs one
• Music and entertainment
• Emergency services, community partners and special guests joining us throughout the day
• A Design Your Own Superhero competition with prizes to be won
We’re also looking for donations of superhero costumes for children and adults. If you have any clean, good-quality costumes that are no longer needed, we’d love to hear from you. Your donation could help someone take part and feel like a superhero on the day.
We’ve worked hard to make this an event that welcomes everyone. The route has been carefully planned with accessibility in mind, and a shuttle service will be available to help participants return to the start point after the event.
