Dear Sir,
Like many local residents, I was concerned to receive an unsolicited leaflet through my door from Fornax promoting its Hazardous Waste Incinerator.
The leaflet makes confident assurances without giving any scientific sources or calculations in support of their claims, for example, even the leaflet’s claim that emissions are ‘equivalent to one HGV doing 20,000 miles a year’ doesn’t match up to Fornax’s own published emissions modelling, nor UK Government vehicle emissions data.
How can they produce a leaflet which makes such claims and more, yet with nothing to back it up? No references – no real, comparable data?
It seems as if we are the Guinea pigs, and Fornax is just softening us up with this latest PR stunt.
Ian Jones openly scoffing at our community during recent press interviews, referring to our concerns as ‘baseless rumours’ and ‘misinformation’, tells us all we need to know about this fake ‘good neighbour’ rhetorical spin from Fornax – when, in reality, local people are having genuine, INFORMED conversations and are rightfully concerned around the local impact of this Incinerator.
Fornax is taking us (or trying to) for fools.
Yours Faithfully,
Charlotte Russell.
