Tickets are now on sale for a must-see pantomime following last year’s record-breaking production.
Sleeping Beauty at Empire Consett proved to be the panto that dreams are made of after breaking Box Office records to become the Durham County Council venue’s highest-grossing show.
Written, directed and starring Leah Bell, the production ran from Friday 28 November to Wednesday 31 December, with 16,000 people enjoying the show across 38 performances.
Leah will be returning to Empire Consett once again this year alongside a full supporting cast for a tale as old as pantomime – Beauty and the Beast.
Tickets have been released for this spellbinding production, which will be packed full of ROAR-some adventures, dazzling costumes, hit songs, audience participation and everyone’s favourite characters.
Cllr Karen Allison, Durham County Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, tourism, regeneration and high street, said: “We’re delighted Sleeping Beauty was such a success and brought fun and laughter to so many people over the festive season. I would like to thank everyone involved in the production, including our fantastic audiences for supporting Empire Consett and helping to make shows such as this possible.
“I know Leah and the team have some fantastic plans for this year’s panto, which I’m sure will attract even more people and further boost the local economy.”
Beauty and the Beast will run from Friday 27 November to Thursday 31 December with accessible performances, including British Sign Language interpreted and relaxed shows, on Monday 28 November at 3pm and Tuesday 29 November at 11am respectively.
With a limited number of £10 tickets across all performances and family discounts also available, audiences are advised to not let the last rose petal fall and book early to avoid disappointment.
