Residents are being reminded that the annual canvass is about to begin and to check their voter registration details. If the council holds an email address for any of the registered electors in a property, it will issue a form via email as part of its digital transformation and to save postage costs. If an email is not available, forms will be delivered in the post.
The email will originate from www.gov.uk Notify and it is important that all members of the household regularly check their email inbox over the next week to ensure the form is received, as the email may be issued to any member of the household. Each household should follow the instructions on the form to ensure the information the council holds is correct.
Residents are also being reminded that they need to register if they wish to vote in any upcoming elections. Details on how to register on the government portal will also be provided. Residents who have recently moved, and not made electoral services aware, or whose details are not included in the form, can register online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
