Woodham Academy recently hosted the 2025 BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow; an event designed to inspire and guide students in their career aspirations. The roadshow, part of a nationwide tour, aims to provide secondary school students with valuable insights into various career paths and the skills needed to succeed in the modern workforce.
The event featured interactive sessions led by experienced BBC presenters, who were joined by local professionals from diverse industries including Forestry England, the BBC and Svitzer Marine. These professionals shared their career journeys, discussed relevant qualifications, and offered advice on work experience and essential soft skills. The sessions were highly engaging, with students actively participating in Q&A segments, asking questions about the panellists’ careers and seeking guidance on their own future paths.
Woodham Academy’s commitment to providing outstanding careers education was evident throughout the event. The school’s Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) programme, which follows the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensures that all students are well-prepared for their future.
The BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow has become a flagship event, supporting secondary school students across the UK in their career endeavours. This year’s tour, running from September 2024 to January 2025, aims to visit over 125,000 students, making a significant impact on the next generation of professionals.
