There was a wonderful sense of community at Bewick Crescent Surgery on Friday 25th September, as patients, staff and members of our Patient Participation Group (PPG) came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning.
The surgery was filled with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and an amazing selection of homemade and shop-bought cakes, all generously donated by our staff and PPG members. Three members of our PPG were also on hand to help serve patients, making sure everyone had plenty of cake and coffee while enjoying a chat and supporting this very worthwhile cause.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, we were delighted to raise £283.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Every donation, no matter how small, helped us reach this fantastic total.
The spirit of giving continued after the coffee morning had finished. With cakes still remaining at 3.00pm, we were pleased to donate them to St Clare’s Church Foodbank, ensuring that nothing went to waste and that our local community could benefit too.
A huge thank you to Diane, from our reception team, who organised the event and helped make the morning such a success. We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our staff, PPG members and patients who baked, bought cakes, donated money, helped out or simply came along to enjoy a coffee and support the cause.
It was a lovely example of what can be achieved when our surgery community comes together – raising money for an important charity while also supporting our local community.
Well done and thank you to everyone who helped make the Macmillan Coffee Morning such a success!
