Trip to Hexham and Corbridge
In September, members and friends had a day out to Hexham and Corbridge. We visited Hexham Abbey, the farmer’s market and craft fair. In Corbridge, shopping and afternoon tea went down extremely well.
The WI 111th Anniversary Celebrations
We held an afternoon craft session to celebrate 111 years of the WI. Dressed in purple, and colours of the WI, we painted memory stones with uplifting messages to be shared in places around the village, with tea and cake of course!
Our Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 21st October at 7pm, when Alison Grange from Hopetown will talk about Women and the Railways. Visitors are most welcome to join us.

Coffee n Chat
Our next Coffee n Chat will be on Wednesday 14th October between 2.00pm and 3.00pm at Aycliffe Village Hall. Everyone is welcome to come along for a drink and a chat in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You don’t have to be a member of the WI and we look forward to seeing new faces.
Other Events
Aycliffe Village WI continues to visit St Clare’s Court care home for crafting sessions with the residents. We collect food and other items for St Clare’s Church food bank and a local Women’s Refuge. We are holding an evening with our ACLE group to pass on basic skills, like knitting, ironing and sewing.
