The Oakleaf Sports Complex in Newton Aycliffe was transformed into one of the country’s leading venues for Heelwork to Music and Freestyle at the beginning of August.
K9 Pursuits pulled out all the stops to host the first Heelwork to Music Association UK event in the North East, attracting competitors from across the country who came to showcase their skills and perform alongside their dogs.
Competitors took to the ring hoping to impress the judges and earn prizes, trophies and rosettes, with a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.
The Heelwork to Music Association UK is a new organisation designed to encourage new handlers and their dogs to take part in the sport. Food and toys can be used in the lower-level classes, helping both dogs and handlers build confidence as they progress towards the more advanced levels.
Heelwork to Music is a fun and rewarding sport for people of all ages, including children, and offers a great way to develop teamwork and strengthen the bond between handlers and their dogs.
