Happy New Year!
The local police sent a message in 2025 wishing a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, they highlighted Road Safety in that message and here is an update:
Durham Police arrested 109 people who thought their journey was more important than somebody else’s life;
Thirty people were arrested for drink driving;
Sixty one were arrested for drug driving (cocaine and cannabis);
Fourteen were arrested for being unfit to drive through alcohol or drugs;
Four were arrested for failing to provide a breath test.
Thank you to those who were not selfish last Christmas and arranged a lift or a taxi instead.
