What a fabulous time Rotary Great Aycliffe had on Friday 28th November at the Town Centre Christmas Lights event.
With a queue stretching across the town centre and hundreds of smiling faces, all waiting to see Santa Claus and his Elves the evening began. Everyone was in good humour and waited patiently.
Santa’s sleigh proved to be very popular as a photo opportunity for all children, young and old, almost as popular as Santa and his free chocolate, donated by the Newton Aycliffe Town Centre management team.
Many letters to Santa, written by the children, which were either posted in the bright red post box beside the sleigh or given to the big man himself, have been taken back with him, so that he can read them and reply to them individually, expect to hear from him soon.
Many thanks to everyone who took part in making this an extremely successful event with smiling faces all round.
Here’s to next year!
