Newton Aycliffe Methodist Church warmly invites everyone to join us in celebrating 70 years of Methodism at Neville Parade – marking the anniversary of the opening of the first church on this site on 10th December 1955.
We will be holding a Songs of Praise service at 2.30pm, followed by refreshments and a time of fellowship.
The current Lounge (formerly known as the Small Hall) was the first of three Methodist buildings constructed on the Neville Parade site after moving from Simpasture. This was followed by the construction of the Large Hall and later the newer church building, distinguished by its curved wall. At the time of the first church’s opening, the Neville Parade shops, the former Oak Tree pub, and the Bury Road flats had already been built, with houses in the surrounding streets beginning to appear.
During refreshments, we will be sharing photographs and memories from events held in the Lounge/Small Hall over the years. We warmly encourage everyone to come along, reminisce, and celebrate this special milestone with us.
For catering purposes, please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting us via:
